Kuwait Commends UK’s Decision to Recognize Palestine

Kuwait City: The State of Kuwait has expressed its approval of the British Prime Minister's recent announcement regarding the United Kingdom's intention to officially recognize the State of Palestine. This development is seen as a significant move towards supporting the two-state solution.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the statement made by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Sir Keir Starmer. The Ministry emphasized that this decision aligns with efforts to implement relevant Security Council resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, which aim to enable the Palestinian people to achieve self-determination and establish an independent state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The Kuwaiti Ministry's statement also highlighted the importance of other countries taking similar steps to contribute to a just and comprehensive resolution of the Palestinian issue. By encouraging international recognition and support, Kuwait believes that such actions could facilitate meaningful progress towards lasting peace in the region.
