The MP of Nineveh, Nayef Al-Shammari, warned of the growing dangers in the Sinjar district, and described the situation in the district as a time bomb that poses a threat to the security situation throughout Nineveh, calling on the Prime Minister to control the situation in Sinjar, end the presence of armed groups in the district, and attract the people of Sinjar in the army, police, and the Popular Mobilization Forces. He said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that "the drug threat poses a real challenge to the security file in Nineveh, stressing that Nineveh has the lowest rate of drug trade and abuse, but despite that, segments and activities of society must cooperate in order to fight this scourge because it is like a cancer, if it spreads in Nineveh, it is difficult to treat it."
