The National Security Service in Babylon Governorate arrested a two-person gang of counterfeiting US dollar bills and promoting them in a number of shops. The National Security Service said in a statement that, 'our detachments collected complete information about these two individuals and track them down until they captured them red-handed, and in their possession was an amount of (20,700) counterfeit dollars that they intended to distribute in commercial activities.' The statement added, "In Anbar and Basra governorates, the National Security Service's detachments were able to arrest three people for trading in counterfeit currency after luring them into an ambush, where about (8,000) counterfeit dollars were seized in their possession." It stressed, "The defendants and the seized items have been referred to the competent judicial authorities to take the necessary measures in accordance with the law."
