MoEHE Organizes Introductory Meeting for Sixth Cohort of ‘Tamheen’ Program

Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE), in coordination with the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau (CGB), organized today the introductory meeting for the sixth cohort 2024-2025 of the "Tamheen" program. In her speech on this occasion, Director of the Training and Development Center at the MOEHE Iman Salman Al Mohannadi, stressed the importance of the program, provided a set of tips for those targeted by the program, and urged them to make the most of its plans and training stages, noting that the Ministry is fully prepared to support them in a way that ensures their success and qualification to become teachers. For her part, Acting Director of the CGB, Dhabia Ahmed Al Buainain, said that the program, which is being implemented in coordination with the MOEHE will provide the labor market with national talents to work in the position of teacher. In her speech, she pointed out that the CGB worked to include vacant positions for the 'teacher' position in coordination with t he Ministry, through the national employment coordination platform "Kawader", as part of the ongoing efforts to localize jobs in the government sector. Addressing future teachers, Al Buainan said that the teaching profession carries within it a noble message and a great responsibility, calling on them to invest every moment in learning new things and developing their skills, to contribute to achieving the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030. In the introductory meeting, General Supervisor of the "Tamheen" Program Abla Saleh Al Kuwari, spoke about the program's paths, importance, and its first phase, which starts from October 13 to January 23, and the second phase from January 26 to May 29. In a statement to Qatar News Agency , Abla Saleh Al Kuwari explained that the meeting included a comprehensive explanation of the "Tamheen" program, its mechanisms and conditions, indicating that, unlike the previous five batches that included only women, the sixth batch includes females and males who have a passion for the teaching profession, in order to graduate qualified and distinguished Qatari teachers of both genders. She pointed out that the sixth batch program includes two paths, the first for applicants through the "Kawader" platform from Qatari graduates from non-faculties of education, who wish to work as teachers in government schools, while the second path aims to enable administrators from employees of the MOEHE and administrative employees in government schools, who wish to transfer their path from the administrative cadre to the academic cadre to become teachers. She explained that the administrative staff in government schools who wish to transfer their track to the academic staff include Qataris, children of Qataris, Qatari women, and GCC countries. She indicated that 39 candidates from non-faculties of education were recruited through the "Kawader" platform, with updates for an additional number, while the number of administrators recruited from the ministry and schools reached 13 administrators. The "Tamheen" program, initiated by the MOEHE in the 2019-2020 academic year, aims to attract Qatari nationals to the teaching profession.
