The Ministry of Migration and Displacement announced the return of (151) citizens voluntarily from the camps (Akdah, Tal Abyad and Ras al-Ain) located on the Syrian-Turkish border to the homeland by land and through the Ibrahim al-Khalil crossing, as part of the ministry's plan to encourage Iraqis in neighboring countries to return voluntarily. The Head of the Iraqis' reception committee on the border strip, Director General of the Immigration Affairs Department in the Ministry, Dr. Safaa Hussein, said according to a statement by the Ministry of Immigration that through joint cooperation between the Ministry's office, the Iraqi Embassy in Ankara, the Iraqi consulate in Gaziantep, and the Ministry's branch in Dohuk Governorate, Iraqis wishing to voluntarily return to their original areas of residence in the governorates of Nineveh, Salah al-Din, and Anbar were returned. Hussein added that "the return came after completing the procedures for their entry into the country, stressing the Ministry's continuation in receiving and returning all families wishing to return to the homeland voluntarily."
