The Ministry of Education has retrieved KD 2.08 million (USD 6.5 million) that had been irregularly paid to staff and workers, Minister of Education Dr. Adel Al-Adwani announced on Saturday. Dr. Al-Adwani, also the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, said in a statement that these sums had been reclaimed in the last quarter of the fiscal year 2023-2024, adhering to circulars by the Ministry of Finance and the Civil Service Commission to tighten auditing on state funds. He affirmed the ministry's adherence to the financial overseeing on all transactions, and commitment to apply the bylaws equally to all personnel for sake of protecting the homeland resources.
