Minister of Public Health: New Medical Care and Research Center Highlights Qatar’s Commitment to Merging Health with Science

Doha: HE Minister of Public Health Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari affirmed that the inauguration of the Medical Care and Research Center underscores the State of Qatar's commitment to combining health with science to significantly address local and global challenges, underlining that this investment, alongside the dedication of medical staffers and professionals will virtually lead to core optimizations in healthcare for patients and achieve the results through conducting research and clinical trials. Her Excellency stressed the importance of the new center in upgrading the quality of healthcare services through leveraging cutting-edge technologies and research practices in alignment with the Qatar's third National Development Strategy. She emphasized the unwavering commitment of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) to enhancing healthcare services and augmenting the capacity of providing professional care, pointing out that the new center is a critical milestone in public healthcare system in the State of Qatar. T he Medical Care and Research Center that was opened today at Hamad Bin Khalifa (HMC) Medical City includes a unit of clinical trials specialized in designing, conducting, and managing trials that detect the safety and effectiveness of medical strategies, treatments, as well as the utilization of medical devices with patients. Additionally, the unit can conduct state-of-the-art research and innovations, as it is primarily dedicated to offering high-quality pediatric healthcare through devoting a pediatric intensive care unit, neonatal intensive care unit, pediatric day care unit, and pediatric ward. The unit embraces an acute geriatric unit to support the care of elderly patients with acute conditions, as well as a modern palliative care unit that offers a comfortable and welcoming environment for patients and their families. The medical facility is the latest addition to HMC, being the hub of precision medicine's related research and genomics, which operates on developing medical treatments tailored to the individual characteristics of patients.
