Minister of Justice Khalid Shwani confirmed the work to develop relations with the French side and activate judicial and legal cooperation agreements. The Ministry said in a statement: "The Minister met today with French Ambassador Patrick Durel and his accompanying delegation." He discussed with him ways to activate cooperation agreements in the judicial and legal aspects between the two countries and the possibility of benefiting from French expertise in developing the reality of prisons to reach the optimal application of human rights principles in accordance with international standards. For his part, Durel stressed that his country is following developments in the humanitarian file in Iraqi prisons and supports his trends in the field of human rights.
