The Minister of Health and Environment, Dr. Ali Abdul Karim Shaiban, was briefed on Monday on the progress of work in the environmental sector and its general departments. He listened to an explanation from the leadership and cadres of the sector on the level of performance of the departments of the sector, their activities and programs, the projects under implementation, the difficulties facing the workflow, and ways to address them. A meeting chaired by the Minister of Health and Environment, Dr. Shaiban, which included the leadership and cadres of the environmental sector, discussed aspects related to the plans and programs of the environment sector and public administrations and ways to develop environmental performance. In the meeting, Minister Chaiban confirmed that the ministry, public institutions, bodies, and administrations in the environment sector are renewing their activity today by merging the health and environment sectors, which are considered the preventive and curative lines of defense fo r citizens. He pointed to the role of the environmental sector during the aggression phase on Yemen in confronting pests and epidemics and the repercussions left by the biological bombing of the aggression from internationally prohibited weapons, whose effects are still today. "The environment sector, despite the obstacles and scarce capabilities, has played a major role in this aspect through environmental awareness," he said. They considered the visit of the leadership of the Ministry of Health and Environment to the sector as an important step to push towards the development of tasks and the implementation of work and the transition from stage to stage in which everyone has the same responsibilities in the service of the citizen and the country.
