Baghdad: /NINA/- The Minister of Electricity, Ziyad Ali Fadel, confirmed that the demand for energy increased significantly during this summer and "we achieved a noticeable increase in production." A statement by the Ministry of Electricity stated that the Minister conducted a visit to al-Doura Electricity Sector, accompanied by the Chairman and members of the Parliamentary Energy Committee. During the visit, the rehabilitation and maintenance work that took place on the production units at the station was reviewed. According to the statement, the Minister and the parliamentary delegation toured the expansion cycle station (132), where the Director of Energy Transmission/Central Region, Riyad Oraibi, gave a detailed explanation of the station, noting the addition of entering a third transformer to 'Working in the station with a capacity of (90 MVA) to increase availability and reduce pressure on the areas surrounding the thermal cycle station.' During the tour, according to the statement, the Minister conf irmed that great efforts are being made to secure stable and sustainable supply hours for electrical energy in the country, revealing that a noticeable increase in production has been achieved compared to last year. He pointed out that the demand for energy has increased significantly during this summer, noting that the Ministry is on alert to relieve bottlenecks in some areas and respond quickly to emergency breakdowns due to high temperature. For his part, Chairman of the Parliamentary Energy Committee, MP Muhammad Abd Rabba, stressed the importance of the electricity sector during the summer to confront the high temperature, praising the efforts of the ministry's staff in improving the level of services and meeting the increasing demand for energy.
