Minister of Culture signs agreement with Tablah Publishing House to translate Gaza War Diaries into Portuguese

Jerusalem - Ma'an - Palestinian Minister of Culture Imad Hamdan signed a cooperation agreement with Tablah Publishing House in Brazil to translate into Portuguese selected parts of the book "Writing Behind the Lines", which includes testimonies and diaries of artists and writers from the Gaza Strip who documented their literary experiences and diaries during the ongoing war on the Strip. Minister of Culture Imad Hamdan said that translating this book comes within the ministry's vision to preserve, protect, translate and disseminate the Palestinian narrative to the world, and is part of the Palestinian government's efforts to promote and document the narrative, to combat the narrative of the Israeli occupation and to respond to all attempts to obliterate, falsify and distort the Palestinian identity and culture. Minister Hamdan added that this cooperation comes within the framework of the Ministry's tireless efforts to convey the suffering of the Palestinians, especially the suffering of our people in the Ga za Strip, its intellectuals and writers, who live under the genocide of humanity, its culture and heritage, and to convey their voice and suffering to the world in several languages. Laura Di Pietro, director of Tablah Publishing House, said that translating this book is important and necessary, in light of the desire of audiences around the world to know the details of what is happening in the Gaza Strip in light of the war, in the shelters and inside the tents, noting that this book will be launched in the Portuguese edition, during the literature festival in Brazil, which will be held next October, and a copy of it will be delivered to the Brazilian president who supports the Palestinian cause. She added that she was honored by this important collaboration, which the Brazilian and Portuguese-speaking audiences are looking forward to with great interest, and that the translated stories are realistic and humane and will have a profound impact on the minds and hearts of readers.
