Doha: HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai said that the Space Radio Monitoring Center (SRMC), which was inaugurated on Thursday, plays a vital role in enhancing the State of Qatar's leadership in satellite communications and advanced technology. In remarks to Qatar News Agency , His Excellency added that the new center benefits from modern monitoring systems to track and analyze communications via satellite, which ensures high quality in data transmission and reception and makes the State of Qatar a regional center for innovation. On the other hand, His Excellency also pointed out that the SRMC contributes to enhancing scientific research by developing new technologies for space communications, and enhances cooperation with international space agencies and technology companies to exchange knowledge and joint projects, which raises the status of the State of Qatar globally. In addition, the center will contribute to supporting commercial satellites and communic ations services, which will help in diversifying the economy and enhancing technological leadership. The SRMC reflects the State of Qatar's commitment to enhancing the satellite communications infrastructure and maintaining a frequency spectrum free from interference. The SRMC covers 20,000 square meters and includes an advanced control center, mobile monitoring station, and drone monitoring unit, all of which work as an integrated system that supports satellite communications in the State of Qatar in a safe and uninterrupted manner.
