Amman: Minister of Water and Irrigation, Raed Abu Saud, met Thursday with British Ambassador to the Kingdom, Philip Hall, to discuss water challenges and ongoing efforts in the water sector to address them through sustainable projects. In a statement from the ministry, Abu Saud acknowledged the significant support from donor countries, particularly the United Kingdom, in facing the Kingdom's pressing water challenges. The British Ambassador expressed his country's keenness to enhance cooperation and offer solutions in modern water management, affirming the UK's backing for Jordan's plans to execute sustainable water projects. He also commended the water sector's efforts and accomplishments in managing Jordan's current water situation effectively. The projects included improving and expanding the eastern entrance to Bajil city with funding, constructing, filling and asphalting the northwestern Aldaayirii line, restoring excavations and making an asphalt layer on the southern Aldaayirii street and the main street in the city of Bajil, rehabilitating the lighting network for the main street, digging three water wells, and maintaining and expanding the electricity network for the city and its suburbs. Dr. Maqbouli, Mutlaq, Al-Bukhaiti, Qahim and Al-Ezzi listened to an explanation from the directors of the works offices in the province and the directorate, the Roads Corporation, and the engineers in charge of these projects about the mechanism of work, the timetable for them, the technical studies, and the extent of adherence to the technical specifications of these lines, which represent a strategic artery for expanding the network of the road system in Bajil District. The visitors emphasized the importance of maintenance and asphalting projects for roads and streets in Bajil Directorate and continuing to provide its needs for service and development projects in accordance with the approved project matrix to translate the leadership's directives to make the directorate one of the model directorates.
