The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning expected varying and scattered thunderstorms in several provinces, strong winds on the eastern and southern coasts , Socotra, and hot weather in deserts, plains and coastal areas during the next 24 hours. The center stated in its weather bulletin, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that thunderstorm rains of varying intensity are expected, accompanied by falling winds and sometimes hail, in parts of Al-Mahra, Hadhramaut, Shabwa, Al-Bayda, Abyan and Lahj Heights, Al-Dhale', Taiz, and Ibb , Raymah, Dhamar, the highlands of the Tihama Plain and parts of the deserts of Al-Mahra, Hadramaut, Shabwa, Marib and Al-Jawf. The Center warned citizens in areas where rain is expected to fall, against being in the depths of valleys and flood paths, against thunderstorms , hailstones, and from low horizontal visibility due to rainfall and dense low clouds, and against crossing ground bridges when floods flow. He also warned seafarers, fisherm en, and ship captains of turbulent seas and high waves around the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts. It advised citizens and workers in deserts, plains and coastal areas not to be directly exposed to the sun's rays during the afternoon, to drink plenty of fluids, and to be careful when dust and sand storms occur.
