The National Centre for Meteorology and Early Warning has predicted sporadic thunderstorms of varying intensity in a number of governorates over the next 24 hours. The centre said in its weather bulletin that thunderstorms of varying intensity are expected in Lahj, Taiz, Dhalea, Ibb, Rima, Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Sahl and the highlands of Tihama, Hudaydah and Saada. He pointed to the possibility of sporadic rains accompanied by thunder sometimes on areas of Al-Jawf, Marib, western Amran, Sana'a, Dhamar, Abyan, Al-Bayda, Shabwa, parts of the Hadramawt plateau, the eastern, southern and western coasts, and the Socotra archipelago. He reported that the amount of rain that fell during the past 24 hours and was measured at some meteorological stations was as follows / Al-Mukalla: 12 mm, Taiz: 6.3, Al-Ghayza: 6, Ibb: 3.2, Socotra: 2, Seiyun: 0.6 mm. Sporadic rains also fell outside the monitoring stations on parts of Shabwa, Abyan, Lahij, Tihama Highlands and Plains. The centre warned citizens against being in the valleys and torrents during and after the rains and thunderstorms, and the low horizontal visibility on roads and mountain slopes due to dense low clouds and the formation of fog.
