General Corporation Directors Board for Coffee Development and Marketing discussed today,Monday, In its meeting in Sana'a,the future vision of the Corporation, its goals ,activities in the field of protecting Yemeni coffee and improving its productivity, marketing and export. The meeting, which included the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation - Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Agricultural and Fisheries Committee, Dr. Radwan Al-Rubai, and the Undersecretaries of Services Sector Ministry ,Dhaif Allah Shamlan, and Production Development, Engineer Samir Al-Hanani, and the Executive Director of the Foundation, Manea Al-Asal, stressed the importance of unifying efforts, visions, awareness, development and marketing of coffee, and that that should be one of The organization's development and marketing tasks. At the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation stressed the importance of the Foundation and its role in developing the Yemeni coffee crop, improving productivity, and focusing on marketing it locally and abroad. He considered the Foundation a qualitative addition to enhancing the role of the Ministry of Agriculture and its efforts to highlight Yemeni coffee as a national crop. He touched on the role of the institution and its contribution to spreading the culture of coffee locally, creating community awareness of the importance of the coffee product ,preserving its historical and national identity, in addition to creating integrated cooperation between the concerned authorities and all actors in the value chain of Yemeni coffee. Al-Rubi urged to redouble efforts and coordinate roles to expand the cultivation of this economic crop and increase its production capacity, based on its importance in improving the income level of coffee-producing families and the national economy in general.
