Christopher Lockyear, Secretary General of Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) described the humanitarian and health crisis in the Gaza Strip as catastrophic. In a statement issued on Friday, Lockyear highlighted that healthcare workers face neither security nor safety while carrying out their duties. He said Israel is obstructing the entry of essential supplies into Gaza and using humanitarian aid as a means of political propaganda. He said international humanitarian law guarantees the delivery of aid and the protection of healthcare and humanitarian workers, yet these protections are not being upheld.
