The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC), represented by the Wildlife Development Department, participated in the meetings of the Animals and Plants Committees of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), taking place in Geneva from July 8-19. The meetings discussed and evaluated the status of species listed under the convention, in addition to deliberating upon measures and necessary action to protect these species from illegal trade and ensure sustainability in their natural habitats.
