The Secretary of the Capital, Dr. Hammoud Abbad, today inaugurated work on a project to maintain the streets of the Municipality of the Capital at a cost of 350 million riyals, funded by the local council. The Mayor of the Capital was briefed on the maintenance work carried out by the Executive Unit teams to establish, maintain and develop roads and public places in the Municipality, on Baghdad Street in Al-Wahda District, and the street parallel to the Khuzaymah Cemetery in Al-Safiya District. He heard from the executive director of the unit, Engineer Abdul-Malik Al-Ansi, and the engineers an explanation about the start of maintenance work in the targeted streets, as well as an inventory of the damaged streets by field teams, so that work can be done in accordance with the project plan. The Mayor of the Capital confirmed that the street maintenance project targets all directorates, to address damage, fill excavations, and preserve the asphalt layers, in a way that contributes to facilitating traffic move ment and alleviating the suffering of citizens. He directed the executive unit and its technical and field teams to intensify efforts to maintain and restore dilapidated streets and sections, and to focus on the quality of work and speed of completion.
