With 90 percent of the votes counted, incumbent Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould El Ghazouani set for a sweeping election victory, the electoral commission announced Sunday. According to the figures posted on the electoral commission's website, El Ghazounani secured 55,82 of the votes, to lead Saturday's presidential elections with a large margin from human rights campaigner Biram Dah Abeid who came second with only 22.32 of the votes.
