Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri met Tuesday with Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) Philippe Lazzarini. They discussed the situation in Lebanon and the region in light of the Israeli entity's continued aggression against southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip and the role of UNRWA in providing humanitarian and relief aid. In a statement after the meeting, Lazzarini said that they discussed the situation in the region, the crisis in Gaza and the West Bank, and the conflict that is expanding in Lebanon, adding that all efforts in Gaza are focused on a ceasefire, the release of hostages and how to bring in humanitarian aid. The meeting also discussed the situation of UNRWA, which faces constant attacks from the Israeli entity and calls to dismantle it, in addition to targeting its facilities and employees inside Gaza.
