Amman: The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, on Saturday called for a political solution to end the madness in Gaza, following the announcement that 36 people were killed and dozens injured in an Israeli airstrike on a refugee school in the central Gaza Strip. "Ceasefire has to happen now. International Humanitarian Law has to be respected. Humanitarian assistance to civilians needs to be delivered at scale," Borrell said Saturday in a post on his official X account. "Only a political solution will end this madness," Borrell underscored. Borrell added, "Yet another attack on a school used as a shelter for internal displaced people in Khan Younis. Reports say at least 30 killed, 100 injured including many children. At the same time an already very fragile population is asked to relocate again and again, with no end in sight." The Israeli occupation army bombed a school sheltering displaced people in Deir al-Balah in the center of Gaza Strip, killin g 36 people, including children and women, in addition to more than 100 injured, including serious cases.
