Lebanese Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati and United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert on Tuesday discussed the current situation in the country's south and the ongoing efforts to extend the mandate of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). During the meeting, Hennis-Plasschaert called for calm on all fronts, asking all parties to commit to implementing UN Resolution 1701, considering it the only solution to the existing conflict.
