Gaza: UNRWA Commissioner-General, Philippe Lazzarini, reported that Israeli authorities allowed an average of only 30 humanitarian trucks per day to enter the Gaza Strip in October 2024. This figure marks a significant reduction in aid entry, bringing it to levels seen at the beginning of the conflict. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Lazzarini expressed concerns over this reduction, stating that it is insufficient to meet the needs of over 2 million residents in Gaza, many of whom are facing hunger, illness, and dire conditions. He emphasized that the current aid represents merely 6% of the supplies, both commercial and humanitarian, that were permitted into Gaza prior to the conflict. Since October 7, 2023, Israel has enforced a closure of all land crossings with Gaza, severely restricting the flow of goods and essential supplies. These restrictions have also impacted the delivery of humanitarian aid, contributing to an escalating crisis in living conditions in the region.
