Kuwait's Permanent envoy to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Nasser Al-Hayen, called on the international community to take responsibility towards the catastrophic situation in Gaza Strip saying that the labor sector faired major damage due to continuous Israeli aggression. Al-Hayen stated this to KUNA on Monday on sidelines of 112th annual International Labor Organization conference with participation of 187 countries. He underscored the augmenting humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the forced eviction of two million Palestinian citizen, Israeli occupation hindering the entry of aid, as well as the mounting rate of unemployment. He stressed that this conference must send a forceful message to Israeli occupation to adhere to international laws regulating labor, adding that Kuwait is demanding the rights of Palestinian workers as per labor agreements. The Kuwaiti diplomat spoke of the maltreatment Palestinian workers are subjected to including unfair suspension of permits and ma terial and moral damage. The 112th meeting holds a special importance as its agenda is filled with hefty topics and is held in the midst of ongoing aggression on Gaza Strip. Over the span of 11 days it will be handling issues concerning laborers including protection criteria, basic rights and principles as well as work suitability and care economy.
