Kuwait and Singapore held on Wednesday the first round of bilateral consultations at the level of senior officials in the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries in the Republic of Singapore. In a statement, the Kuwait Embassy in Singapore announced Kuwait Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Ambassador Sameeh Essa Johar Hayat, and the Singapore Deputy Secretary of the Asia-Pacific Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kevin Cheok headed the sessions. During the consultations, the two countries reviewed the bilateral relations between them, highlighting the myriad of ways to strengthen and bolster mutual interests, the statement added. The two countries discussed the most important developments at both the regional and international levels, underscoring the coming together of mutual visions regarding communication, cooperation and coordination on issues mentioned. During the meeting, the two countries stressed the importance of holding joint committees at the level of Foreign Min isters in the near future, emboldening the bilateral relations of Kuwait and Singapore. The year 2025 marks the 40th anniversary of establishing diplomatic bilateral relations between the two countries, witnessing great achievements since 1985, and having a cause to celebrate the ties. Ambassador Hayat delivered a handwritten letter from Kuwait Foreign Affairs Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya to his Singaporean counterpart Minister Vivian Balakrishna, inviting him on an official state visit to Kuwait. The sessions were attended by Kuwait Ambassador to Singapore Ahmad Al-Shuraim, Singapore Non-Resident Ambassador to Kuwait Zainul Abidin Rasheed, and other officials from both sides.
