Kuwait Modern Pentathlon Federation (KMPF) President Nasser Al-Waleed announced on Monday the signing of an international cooperation agreement with the Saudi counterpart to develop modern pentathlon in both countries. Al-Waleed told KUNA that the agreement aims to exchange expertise, cooperate and coordinate participation in upcoming tournaments to develop modern pentathlon in GCC, Arab, Asian, and foreign countries worldwide. The agreement also envisages a project to sharpen the skills of referees and coaches in both countries and prepare players capable of competing globally, in preparation for the Youth Olympics, due in Senegal in 2026, in addition to other pentathlon events, he added. Moreover, the accord stipulated that a media liaison officer would be appointed to exchange and promote news and broaden the tasks of the two federations, eyed as new as both had been founded less than three years ago. Al-Waleed represented Kuwait at the signing ceremony, while Hussein Al-Abdulwahab, Deputy President and Executive Director of the Saudi Modern Pentathlon Federation, represented Saudi Arabia.
