The administration of Kuwait Specialized Hospital succeeded in opening a field hospital in Al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis, at a time when the healthcare system in Gaza is collapsing due to the ongoing Israeli aggression. The Israeli aggression targeted the Hospital's main building in Rafah, resulting in the death of two staff members. The Kuwaiti Field Hospital became a mecca; serving thousands of Palestinians, as it includes a surgery department, a birth clinic, 13 specialized clinics, a dental center, and four emergency departments, with a 60-bed capacity and other services such as laboratories, radiology and a pharmacy. The hospital location's plays a crucial role in combating infectious diseases and the difficulties of transferring patients to other hospitals, as it is among thousands of tents housing displaced persons. Opening the hospital is a responsibility to serve Palestinians who deserve life amidst shelling and destruction, said Dr. Suhaib Al-Hams, director of Kuwait Specialized Hospital, in a statement to KUNA. Dr. Al-Hams further explained the decision to establish the field hospital was made after the Israeli aggression invaded Rafah, as medical equipment from Kuwait Hospital was evacuated in stages for over than three continuous weeks.
