Doha: May 26 - Kuwait Club and Iranian Shahrdary Gorgan reached the Semi-Finals of the FIBA West Asia Super League (WASL) Final 8 for the sport season 2023-2024, which hosted by Doha for the first time at the Lusail Sports Hall. Kuwait Club and Iranian Shahrdary Gorgan qualified after beating Kuwaiti Kazma and Indian Tamil Nadu teams respectively. In the first match, Kuwait Club defeated its compatriot Kazma 99-95, with a difference of only 4 points, after playing two additional times. It was a strong match for both teams. The original four periods of the match ended in a 70-70 draw (18-21, 19-13, 15-21, 18-15). The two teams tied in the first extra time 14-14 but Kuwait Club decided the match and won it in the second extra time 15-11. In the second match, the Iranian Shahrdary Gorgan team scored a 104-91 major victory over the Indian Tamil Nadu team with a difference of 13 points.
