Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) on Thursday vowed to continue offering humanitarian aid to the refugees and the displaced across the world. The number of refugees throughout the world has been continuously mounting amid increasing natural catastrophes and crises, said Anwar al-Hasawi, the KRCS Deputy Chairman, in a statement to KUNA marking World Refugee Day (falling on June 20). Tally of people who fled home due to wars and violence hit 120 million in the end of April, he said, citing reports by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. He voiced particular concern at the genocide targeting the relocated Palestinians, indicating that the KRCS was honored on the sidelines of today's ceremony held by the UNHCR in coordination with the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.
