Doha: Qatar Calendar House (QCH) announced on Sunday that the giant of the solar system, the planet Jupiter will meet with Aldebaran in the sky of Qatar and the countries of the Arab region on the morning of Tuesday. Astronomical expert at QCH, Dr. Bashir Marzouk, said Qatar residents will be able to observe the two planets Jupiter and Aldebaran above the eastern horizon from Tuesday at 2:27 am, even before sunrise on Tuesday at 4:51 am, Doha local time. He highlighted that the phenomenon of planetary conjunctions within the solar system will occur 11 times in 2024. The next conjunction will be on Monday, Jul.15 between Mars and Uranus, noting that the significance of this phenomenon is a good opportunity for sighting and tracking the conjunction of Jupiter and Aldebaran at the closest point in the sky. Additionally, the phenomenon confirms the precision of astronomical calculations in predicting the orbits and movements of celestial bodies, especially within the solar system. This virtually serves as evid ence for astronomy enthusiasts in Qatar and the Arab region to explore celestial objects that can be sighted every night in the sky. Source: Qatar News Agency
