Gaza City: A journalist was killed on Saturday evening after being shot by Israeli drone fire while present in the courtyard of Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, reporter Mamdouh Qneita was killed by gunfire from an Israeli army quadcopter drone. The drone targeted a group of civilians, including Qneita, who were gathered in the hospital's vicinity. This tragic incident follows the death of journalist Mohammed Saleh Sharif, who was killed by an Israeli drone strike in Jabalia refugee camp, northern Gaza, just two weeks ago. A report issued by the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate on November 2, 2024, indicates that 175 journalists have been killed since October 7, 2023, as Israeli occupation forces continue to target media professionals covering the ongoing genocide in Gaza. The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has resulted in at least 44,363 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 105,070 others injured. Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks. Despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, Israel's genocidal attacks continue unabated.
