Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Hneifat, on Tuesday said Jordan's olive sector witnessed a "qualitative" leap in production, marketing, export and manufacturing, stressing the ministry's continuous support to advance the Kingdom's olive oil industry. Chairing a meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture with Jordan Olive Oil Producers Syndicate, Hneifat reviewed the multiple opportunities to advance this "key and vital" sector and its economic, social and environmental importance. In this regard, he affirmed the ministry's readiness to support the sector's industries by facilitating investment in industrial zones and exempting leasing fees for the first 5 years to stimulate investors in this field and streamlining grants for this purpose. Meanwhile, the syndicate's head, Mohammad Najdawi, valued the ministry's contribution to develop the sector, in li ne with the National Plan for Sustainable Agriculture 2022/2025, referring to efforts to protect the domestic olive oil product, hold festivals and exhibitions to promote the sector's products, and support exports.
