King Abdullah II warned of the grave regional escalation that would imperil international peace and security, calling on the international community to intensify efforts for an immediate and permanent ceasefire to rein in the worsening humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip. Warning of the hazardous consequences of the Israeli attack on Rafah, he stressed the need to protect civilians in Gaza and ensure a humanitarian aid access to the enclave.
