Jordan’s imports of Iraqi oil decreased by (42%)

The total quantities of oil imported by Jordan from Iraq during the past five weeks decreased by 42%, compared to the same period last year, according to figures issued by the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Jordan imported 336.2 thousand barrels of Iraqi oil compared to 584 thousand barrels during the two comparison periods. The quantities imported from the Iraqi side cover about 10% to 15% of the Kingdom of Jordan's daily need for crude oil, estimated at about 150 thousand barrels per day. According to the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, "the supply is taking place in accordance with the extension of the memorandum of understanding signed in May of last year to provide the Kingdom with no more than 15 thousand barrels per day, based on the monthly Brent crude oil rate minus $16 per barrel, to cover the quality difference and transportation costs."
