Jordan's King Abdullah II has discussed developments in Gaza and Lebanon in a phone call with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof. During the call, the Jordanian monarch warned of the consequences of the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, calling on the international community to enhance the humanitarian response in the Strip. He reiterated the need to stop the Israeli war on Gaza and Lebanon, and to reduce escalation in the region. He warned of the danger of continued Israeli settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank, and the violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem.
