Jordan welcomes French President’s call to halt weapons exports to Israel

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron's call to halt the export of weapons to the Israeli occupation, used in the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip. The ministry's Spokesperson, Sufyan Al-Qudah, reaffirmed that the French President's call is in line with the resolutions of the UN Security Council, the UN General Assembly and the International Court of Justice, and all relevant resolutions that stressed the need for a ceasefire in Gaza and the resulting unprecedented suffering and humanitarian catastrophe, and the need to ensure adequate and sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid to all parts of the Gaza Strip, and the protection of civilians. Al-Qudah lauded France's supportive positions of the rights of the Palestinian people to freedom and the establishment of their independent and sovereign state on the pre-4 June 1967, with occupied Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the two-state solution, and commended its efforts in deli vering humanitarian and relief aid to the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip. Al-Qudah emphasised the importance of imposing a complete embargo on arms exports to Israel, stressing that failure to impose real sanctions on Israel will lead to the continuation of its aggression in Gaza and Lebanon and its attacks in the occupied West Bank, which constitute a violation of international law and a threat to the security of the entire region.
