Minister of Health and Acting Chairman of the Supreme Council of Arab Board of Health Specializations (ABHS) Dr. Firas Hawari, discussed the agenda of "the first Arab conference on the role of Arab immigrant health professionals in supporting health systems in Arab," which the Kingdom will host under the Royal auspices, on 19-20 October. During the meeting held Monday at the Ministry of Health, Hawari discussed preparations with Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, and Head of the ABHS Executive Office, Dr. Adel Adawi. The officials also discussed the procedures on progress to outline the conference's agenda and accept discussion papers related to health affairs and role of Arab expatriate health competencies in supporting the pan-Arab health systems, according to a ministry statement. The officials said holding the event in Amman is "important," with the participation of Arab countries' health ministers and a number of Arab expat health professionals, experts and special ists in the health sectors. Since the conference is the first of its kind to be held in partnership among Arab health bodies, the officials said it has a "positive" impact on exchanging experiences and knowledge. Meanwhile, Hawari praised the decision of the Council of Arab Ministers of Health and the Arab League to pick Jordan to host the conference, which would be a scientific forum for Arab health experts and represents the "remarkable" interest in supporting the pan-Arab health sector. The minister added that such events contribute to exchange expertise and knowledge among guest participants from Arab countries. The attendees of the meeting said Jordan's step to host the conference will contribute to cast light on experiences of Arab health professionals globally, which would reflect "positively" of transferring their these experiences to develop Arab health systems.
