Amman: Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi Wednesday called Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Vajon to commend Slovenia's decision to recognise the State of Palestine. Safadi thanked Vajon for Ljubljana's decision to recognise Palestine earlier today, stating that it is a "clear step that reflects Slovenia's support for truth, justice and international law." Safadi and Vajon discussed efforts for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza and opening all crossings to deliver aid into the embattled enclave. Safadi praised Slovenia for demanding an end to the Israeli war on Gaza and its role in the Security Council in its current capacity as a non-permanent member of the Council.
