A total of 100 Jordanian land convoys, including 3,374 trucks, were dispatched so far by the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF)- Arab Army and the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) to people in the Gaza Strip, the organization announced on Sunday. According to the JHCO statement, the 100th convoy was sent to the strip today, in cooperation with the World Food Program (WFP), carrying food parcels, flour, various canned goods, baby formula, relief supplies, drugs and intravenous solutions, and will be distributed to Gaza people by partner associations and organizations in Gaza. JHCO Secretary-General, Dr. Hussein Shebli, said Jordan's role in providing relief to the people in Gaza is "vital, effective and essential" to ensure the entry and delivery of aid, adding that all parties work together to implement the "massive" humanitarian assistance carried out by Jordan from various sectors, institutions and organizations. Noting the multiple aspects of JHCO's role, he said efforts primarily focus on contact ing with official bodies operating in Gaza to develop lists of needs, taking into consideration purchasing basic materials and networking with organizations and institutions to deliver additional donations that directly contribute to secure needs and implement relief programs and projects. Shebli pointed out that the commission works in cooperation with the JAF to deliver aid into the strip and conclude agreements with associations and organizations operating inside Gaza to ensure aid distribution in Gaza.
