Jordan Condemns Israeli Knesset Members for Al-Aqsa Mosque Incursion

Amman: The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by members of the Israeli Knesset, the Noble Sanctuary, coinciding with actions carried out by extremists during their incursions.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the Ministry labeled this action as a dangerous and unacceptable escalation, a provocation, and a violation of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and its historical and legal status quo. The Ministry’s spokesperson, Sufian Qudah, reiterated Jordan’s strong condemnation of the repeated incursions by Israeli Knesset members and a large number of extremists into the site.

Qudah stated that these incursions worsen the situation in the occupied Palestinian territory and violate Israel’s obligations as the occupying power in Jerusalem. He stressed that these actions are attempts to impose a temporal and spatial division on the site.

He further emphasized that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied city of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites. The Ministry called for an international stance to obligate Israel, as the occupying power, to cease its violations and illegal practices against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
