Amman: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by an extremist Israeli minister, members of the Israeli Knesset, and other extremists on Wednesday, under the protection of Israeli occupation police. The Ministry denounced their provocative actions, which violate the sanctity of the holy mosque. Additionally, the Ministry condemned the Israeli government's approval of the so-called flag march in occupied Jerusalem. This event has led to aggression against Palestinians, racist practices by extremists, restrictions on worshipers accessing the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and limitations on Palestinian movement in the old city of occupied Jerusalem. Sufian Qudah, the Ministry's official spokesman, emphasized that the ongoing raids at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, violations of its sanctity, and extremist practices in occupied Jerusalem are provocative and unacceptable. These actions, he stated, are a blatant violation of international law and the historical and legal status of Jer usalem and its sanctities. Qudah reiterated that Israel has no sovereignty over Al-Aqsa Mosque or occupied East Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites. Qudah called on Israel, as the occupying power, to cease all practices and violations against the Al-Aqsa Mosque and respect its sanctity. He warned against the continuation of these violations. He also stressed the need to respect the authority of the Department of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem Affairs, under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Sanctities. The Department has exclusive authority to manage all affairs of Al-Aqsa Mosque and regulate entry to it. Source: Jordan News Agency
