Jordan has risen 11 spots to rank 89th globally in the United Nations E-Government Development Index, issued by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, up from 100th in 2022. A Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship statement noted that Jordan's advancement reflects its success in meeting the goals of the Economic Modernization Vision, which aims to place the Kingdom among the top half of countries in the index. Jordan also maintained its 8th position among Arab nations included in the report. The E-Government Development Index is comprised of three sub-indicators. Jordan's performance in the E-Services Index improved significantly, ranking 63rd globally, up from 74th in 2022, with a 15.1% improvement. Jordan also achieved high values in the institutional framework and content provision subcategories. The Kingdom saw a slight improvement in the Communications Infrastructure Index, ranking 124th, compared to 125th in 2022, and maintained its global position of 108th in the Human Capital Index. However, Jordan's rank in the E-Participation Index dropped by three points to 70th globally. The ministry attributed the progress to improvements in digital government services, including the expansion of the "Sanad" application, an increase in digitized services, the introduction of advanced digital policies, and the launch of fifth-generation services. The ministry added that it is working on an improvement plan, in coordination with national institutions, to further enhance Jordan's performance in the E-Government Development Index as part of its efforts under the Economic Modernization Vision and Public Sector Modernization Roadmap.
