Riyadh: The extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit held in Riyadh has issued a final communiqué condemning the actions of the Israeli occupation army in the Gaza Strip, referring to them as horrific and shocking crimes. The crimes, described as genocide, include torture, field executions, enforced disappearances, and ethnic cleansing, particularly in the northern region of Gaza. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the summit has urged the United Nations Security Council to establish an independent international investigation committee to look into these alleged crimes and ensure accountability for the perpetrators. The summit emphasized the importance of preserving evidence and preventing any attempts to erase proof of these actions. The communiqué reiterated the centrality of the Palestinian cause, reaffirming support for the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent, sovereign state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the boundaries of June 4, 1967. It called for the return of refugees and compensation in line with international resolutions, particularly Resolution 194. The leaders of the League of Arab States and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, under the chairmanship of Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, convened the summit in response to escalating events in the region.
