Amman: The Jordan Food and Drug Administration and the Royal Police for Environmental Protection and Tourism have seized substantial quantities of unauthorized and expired cosmetics from a residential apartment in Amman. According to an official statement released Tuesday, approximately 50,000 items, weighing a total of 5 tons, were discovered. These products were being marketed and promoted through various social media platforms. The origin of these goods was identified during comprehensive oversight operations and continuous surveillance, which included the regular monitoring of such product advertisements on social media by the inspection teams of the Department of Medical Devices, Supplies, and Cosmetics. The authorities have confiscated the seized items, making arrangements for their proper disposal. Further, steps are being taken to refer the individuals involved to the Public Prosecutor, initiating legal proceedings against them. Source: Jordan News Agency
