Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and UAE Special Envoy to Japan Sultan Al-Jaber agreed on Friday to further promote cooperation between the two countries, Japan's Foreign Ministry said. During their talks in Tokyo, Kishida said Japan attaches great importance to the strategic partnership with the UAE and would like to further strengthen cooperation in various fields under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Initiative, the ministry said in a statement. In response, Al-Jaber, who is also UAE's Industry and Advanced Technology Minister, voiced his renewed hopes for strengthening bilateral relations with Japan, according to the ministry. Kishida also expressed his appreciation for the UAE's stable supply of crude oil to Japan over the years and the UAE's consideration for the participation of Japanese companies in the upstream development of crude oil, and requested cooperation towards stabilization of the crude oil market as well as production increases.
