Italy, Spain, and Belgium Demand Explanation for Shooting at Diplomatic Delegation in Jenin

Jenin: Italy, Spain, and Belgium have issued strong condemnations against the Israeli occupation forces following an incident where live ammunition was fired at a diplomatic delegation near the Jenin refugee camp. The delegation was present to assess the critical conditions within the camp.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Italian Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, expressed his disapproval of the attack on Wednesday. He demanded that Israel provide an immediate explanation, emphasizing that any threats against diplomatic personnel are unacceptable.

The Spanish Foreign Ministry, as reported by France Press, also voiced its condemnation of the attack. The Ministry confirmed that a Spanish diplomat was part of the delegation but assured that no harm came to them. Spain is reportedly in discussions with other affected nations to formulate a coordinated response to the incident, which they have strongly denounced.

Belgian Foreign Minister Maxim Prevost also expressed his shock over the attack on the diplomatic convoy, which was clearly marked. He urged Israel to offer a convincing explanation and confirmed that the Belgian diplomat in the group was not harmed.

A diplomat present during the incident informed France Press that they heard continuous gunfire originating from within the Jenin refugee camp.
