Gaza: An Israeli strike on Thursday resulted in the death of a civilian and left another injured in the city of Gaza, according to WAFA correspondent. The report highlights that the Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance crews responded to the scene, evacuating the body of the deceased civilian and attending to the injured after an Israeli combat drone targeted the al-Sha'biyya intersection.
According to Palestine news and Information Agency, Israel has been conducting military operations in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023. This sustained offensive has resulted in the deaths of 72,956 Palestinians, a large number of whom were women and children, and injured 173,043 others. The onslaught has also ravaged 90% of the Strip's infrastructure, with reconstruction costs estimated at $70 billion.
Despite a ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 11, 2025, Israeli actions have led to the death of 947 Palestinians and injuries to 2,953 others. The period has also seen the recovery of 781 bodies. In the last 24 hours alone, Gaza hospitals have received the bodies of 11 Palestinians and 32 injuries.
Furthermore, the hostilities have left at least 10,000 people missing, believed to be trapped under the debris of their demolished homes. The conflict has forced nearly two million residents to flee their homes across the Gaza Strip, with most seeking refuge in the overcrowded southern city of Rafah near the Egyptian border. This displacement marks the most significant mass exodus in Palestine since the 1948 Nakba.
