SALFIT: Colonial Israeli settler militias bulldozed large tracts of land and uprooted olive trees today in the vicinity of the town of Deir Istiya, in the occupied West Bank province of Salfit, according to local sources. The Salfit Governorate said a group of settlers from the Revava settlement, established on the lands of local residents, bulldozed wide areas and uprooted mature olive trees from an area south of Deir Istiya. The affected land belongs Abdul Jabar Akel, a local Palestinian resident. The ongoing abuses by settlers in the region have been a source of tensions, posing a threat to the livelihoods of the local Palestinian farmers. Settler violence is commonplace across the occupied West Bank, and is endorsed by the far-right Israeli government. Source: Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA
