Israeli Settlers Intensify Attacks on Palestinian Lands in Masafer Yatta

HEBRON: Israeli settlers reportedly attacked Palestinian lands in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, on Monday, escalating tensions in the region with actions aimed at seizing land. Activists report that settlers from the Avigal settlement engaged in activities that included bulldozing and planting trees on lands belonging to local Palestinian families.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Osama Makhamreh, an activist in the area, detailed the attacks originating from the Avigal settlement, which was constructed on lands east of Yatta. The settlers targeted lands owned by Muhammad Abu Aram's family near Ain al-Asira in the Umm al-Shaqhan area. The activities are seen as efforts to appropriate these lands.

Local residents have expressed concern over the increasing frequency of such incidents. Makhamreh noted that these attacks are often carried out under the protection of the Israeli occupation army, which adds to the tension and fear among the Palestinian population in Masafer Yatta. The situation has drawn attention from both local and international observers, who are monitoring developments closely.
